Adoption Fees for Dogs
Adopt a dog from the Dakin Pioneer Valley Humane Society and get all these:
Our adoption fee for adult dogs includes all the above services for just $375 (a value of more than $570.) The adoption fee is $175 for adult pit bulls and pit bull mixes, any dogs who have been at the Adoption Center for more than 4 weeks, and some dogs who may be harder to place (medical issues, behavioral challenges, etc.). For puppies (including pit bull and pit bull mix puppies), our $450 adoption fee also includes a two week puppy class at no additional cost.
Please note, Dixie Dog adoptions have an additional $50 fee, which is sent to the group that provided the dogs to Dakin. The sending Southern group uses this to provide spay/neuter for animals remaining in their area. This helps solve their overpopulation problem at the root by providing critically needed spay/neuter services in the area.
Every Dakin dog adopter is encouraged to register for our training classes held either in Springfield or Hadley. All Dakin adopters receive a $25 discount on their first six-week training class within 6 months of adoption. Dakin also provides behavioral support for the lifetime of your adopted dog.
