Dakin Pioneer Valley Humane Society occasionally places former racing greyhounds available for adoption. Greyhounds can make terrific companions, but because these retired professional athletes have led a life of almost continual confinement, most have never known many of the things companion dogs take for granted—such as stairs or slippery floors.
