me + you= dakin pioneer valley humane society

Dear Friend,

Each spring, it rains cats and dogs. Cats give birth to kittens under porches and in garages. People leave a dog behind when they move.  A classroom guinea pig is left homeless at the end of the school year.

From the Connecticut border to the far reaches of Franklin County, hundreds of people see animals in distress and call on us for help. Thanks to donors and friends like you, most of these stories will have a happy ending.

As soon as we moved into our Springfield building last summer, we launched an ambitious three-year plan to guarantee a new home for every adoptable animal in the Pioneer Valley—a plan that will succeed, because we all want to live in a community where no homeless animal needlessly dies.

This is why I ask you to give to Dakin’s Spring Fund Drive.

Because of past generosity, we were able to open the Community Spay/Neuter Clinic, which has served more than 3,000 cats and dogs since October 2009. We have launched a behavior and training department to help humans better understand the companions who share their home. And we have increased adoptions at our two sites, giving thousands of animals a new lease on life. Mittens. Fluffy. Rusty. Ruby. Patches. Bingo. Snowbunny. Max.

Together, we make can make Dakin Pioneer Valley Humane Society an even stronger advocate for the animals we love. Together, we can make Dakin a humane society that sets the standard for animal welfare organizations in New England. Together, we are Dakin Pioneer Valley Humane Society.

For the animals,

Leslie Harris
Executive Director
