If you want to start right away...
There are quite a few volunteer opportunities that do not require special training- foster care, pet taxi, pet food bank program and organizing projects and events. These positions are always available, and/or do not require a long-term commitment. If you are interested in one of these opportunities, please read more about these positions at What Can I Do to Help as a Volunteer?.
for all other opportunities...
Thank you very much for your interest in volunteering with the Dakin Pioneer Valley Humane Society! Right now we are working with our newest group of volunteers and are in between volunteer welcome sessions. The dates for future sessions are TBD (the next session will be in late April or early May, most likely). If you would like to attend one of those sessions, please keep an eye on our website (they will be listed on our events calendar as well as on this page).
Please note: Leverett welcome sessions are always scheduled for a Tuesday evening at the Leverett public library. Springfield welcome sessions are always scheduled for a Thursday evening at the DPVHS Springfield Education & Adoption Center.
If you would like to get involved right away, there are several volunteer positions we always need help with: foster care, pet taxi, organizing projects/fundraisers/”friendraisers”, and helping with our pet food bank program. If you are interested in one of these opportunities, please read more about these positions at What Can I Do to Help as a Volunteer?
Thank you for your interest in helping the animals of DPVHS. We look forward to hearing from you!
